Fifth AGFORWEB study visit held in Serbia (Goč mountain)
Fifth AGFORWEB study visit was held in Serbia (Goč mountain), 2-4th October 2024. The host was University of Belgrade, Faculty of Forestry.
The study was attended by the fellow participants – partners from Croatia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Serbia.
The PMU meeteing were realized during stay, with the review of previous activities and activities for the end of project implementation.
The hosts took the guests to the fieldtrip, in the experimental plot for dynamic agroforestry near Sremska Mitrovica. This experimental field was established by team from the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops form Novi Sad in cooperation with private owner of the land Ignjat Jurišić. The group visited shelterbelts on the property of agricultural company Almex near Pančevo. This site provided insight into one of the most common agroforestry practices in the region—shelterbelts.
The AGFORWEB team also visited Radmilovac, experimental area of Faculty of Agriculture (UB), where the information on history of establishment, divisions, experimental plots, and winery and destilery were given.
Next day, the field trip was organized in a household in Dragosinci, with innovative method of raising pigs in an oak forest, and Bogutovac where Korićanac family demonstrated their methods of raising sheep and cattle alongside an orchard, showcasing a mixed farming system.
During the stay on Goč mountain, the lectures were held on different topics, which were:
